Upcoming October LEGO GWPs revealed: 40659 Mini Steamboat Willie and 40597 Scary Pirate Island
A Thailand LEGO Certified Store (via Siam Paragon’s Facebook) has revealed two upcoming LEGO Gifts with Purchase (GWPs), setting the stage for a packed October 2023 season.
To tantalise fans with parting their hard-earned cash, LEGO fans can look forward to 40659 Mini Steamboat Willie, and 40597 Scary Pirate Island which will be available throughout the month of October.
- 40597 Scary Pirate Island (10-22 October) when you spend US$100 / AU$170 / €100 on all purchases on LEGO.com
- 40659 Mini Steamboat Willie (23 – 31 October) with purchase of LEGO Disney, Star Wars and Marvel over 5000 THB
Update: 40597 Scary Pirate Island will be available from 10-22 October 2023 when you spend over US$100 / AU$170 / €100 on all purchases on LEGO.com
Do note that these are specific from the Thailand Certified Store, and purchase thresholds haven’t been confirmed worldwide, but we should get official details and more photos soon hopefully.
That said, LEGO does tend to synchronise their offers globally, and this tracks nicely against the end of the Magic Maze GWP which ends on 9 October 2023.
Here’s a look at 40597 Scary Pirate Island, a nostalgic throwback to classic LEGO Pirates sets, with hints of 6279 Skull Island and 6234 Renegade’s Raft which is a nice tie-in to this year’s 10320 Eldorado Fortress, and also doubles as a spooky Halloween set.
40659 Mini Steamboat Willie is a Disney 100-themed set that’s a miniature version of 2019’s Mini Steamboat Willie from LEGO Ideas. It’s pretty cute and comes with a black and white Steamboat Willie Mickey Mouse which should be a great pickup for fans who missed out on the original.
Here’s a look at the Thailand Store Calendar with dates for the upcoming releases.
I also think that we may get a Double Insiders Points event sometime in October, as we got one last year from 10-16 October 2022, and with LEGO’s sales stuttering slightly, I think it’s fair to expect plenty of offers and promotions to get fans spending, especially in the leadup to Christmas.
Stay tuned for the official reveal, and details of these upcoming GWPs soon!
