New Christmas 2020 Build a Minifigure parts!

New Build a Minifigure Christmas 2020 parts

Did you hear, apparently this Christmas thing is coming soon – only a matter of week I’ve been told!

Following on the cycle of new and exclusive parts released on a seasonal basis, LEGO have followed on from their Halloween 2020 Build-a-Minifigure parts with some suitably festive additions for Christmas 2020.

For Christmas 2020, we get a Santa, new female Christmas Elf and a festive girl.

Build A Minifigure has been a little weird here in Melbourne, Australia, and most BAM stations have been shut in our local LEGO stores, but these stores have been kind enough to offer prepackaged selections featuring the new seasonal characters and parts.

I managed to source some of the new minifigures from the Melbourne Legoland Discovery Centre which sells then in-store and online.

Otherwise, you’ll have to check your local LEGO store to see if these parts are already in the Build a Minifigure station.

New Build a Minifigure Christmas 2020 Blister Pack

Here’s a look at the blister pack included. Santa is the same old Santa that’s ubiquitous in a myriad of Christmas sets, so we won’t be covering him.

Pink Christmas Girl Elf Minifigure

The most exciting addition is this Pink Christmas Elf, a brand new colour variant for Santa’s enslaved toymaking workforce.

This isn’t the first girl Santa Elf, but it’s definitely the most girly version, thanks to her new Pink headpiece, and torso.

Pink Christmas Girl Elf Minifigure Alternate Face

The new Pink Christmas Elf comes with all the trimmings, a dual-sided face, back printing as well as a White sack, which a new (and so far exclusive) variant of Santa’s present sack.

LEGO Christmas Elf colours - green, pink and red

This brings the Christmas Elf variants up to 3, as we have the generic green ones which are present in this year’s Elf Clubhouse set and 2014’s Santa’s Workshop set, as well as the Red Elf, which was available at Christmas in 2019.

I believe some of the Red Elf hats/minifigures should still be available, as you can still order the 2019 Christmas Build a Minifigure pack from Legoland Melbourne.

I do like that we’re getting so many different varieties, and for those into girly characters, the femme-Elf is going to be a favourite.

New Christmas Build a Minifigure Girl Blue Sweater

The next minifigure of note is this little girl, who comes with a new and exclusive blue sweater, which has some lovely festive prints on it.

I really like that the arm printing is consistent. Her short teal (or dark turqoise) legs are also new I believe – teal is a very rare colour, and I can’t recall ever seeing teal legs.

New Christmas Build a Minifigure Girl Blue Sweater Back Printing

Here’s a look at her back printing, so you can better appreciate the amazing printing.

The present bow tile is also a new addition to Build a Minifigure for 2020, and I like the festive green and red colours used.

Red and Green LEGO Elves welcome new Pink Elves

The new Pink Elf is definitely my pick of the new Christmas 2020 Build a Minifigure selection, and for those of you with this year’s Elf Clubhouse, and are setting up your Winter/Christmas villages, the new Pink Elf is a great addition to bolster your Elf ranks.

LEGO Elf Clubhouse Christmas Display

Here’s how my Elf Clubhouse set up looks like in front of our Christmas tree!

If you’re lucky enough to be close to a LEGO Store with a Build a Minifigure station, it might be worth it to pay a visit and see if they have any of these.

With the pandemic and tighter hygiene requirements, I don’t expect Build a Minifigure stations to be operational or open, so hopefully LEGO stores will be pre-packaging these for sale. In any case, be safe and wear a mask when you go!

For those of you in Australia, you can order the new Halloween 2020 minifigure set from the Legoland Discovery Centre Online Shop as they’ll ship Australia-wide!

Thanks for reading this quick review and look at the new Build a Minifigure parts for Christmas 2020!

What do you think of these new Christmas minifigures? If you’ve seen them in your local LEGO store or have picked them up, let me know in the comments!

    Hi Jay,
We are looking forward to your annual coverage of the Advent calendars. My son and I got both Harry Potter and Star Wars. I imagine like a lot of families, we came across your blog years ago while trying to figure out just what a particular Star Wars build was supposed to be. You’ve been part of our Christmas tradition ever since.

Cheers and Merry Christmas from Toronto,
    Roger

Hey Roger, so glad to have you back again this year and to be able to share in this tradition! Like yourself, it’s also become an annual tradition for myself, and something I eagerly await each year!

Hope you and your family are well and staying safe this Christmas season!

Kicking myself now I didn’t get the present bow tile when we got minifigures at Charlestown. They have the build a minifigure station in operation and my boys wanted the teal cameleon accessory (which matches her pants) so we went with that instead of the present bow tile.

It seems like LEGO lowered the budget on Minifigures and then raised the price. They should put more effort into which types of characters they put in because getting better ideas than these is not that hard. Overall I think this series just looks like a rushed filler series.

This isn’t really a traditional series, but more of a way to get people and adult LEGO fans into stores to the Build a Minifigure station.

They tend to save most of their best ideas for the Collectible Minifigures range.

Yikes – there was a lot of people who clicked on the link, so we must’ve cleared them out.

If you’re still after one, try calling the Dreamworld LEGO Store – they take orders over the phone!

Gorgeous, are they going to be available from Lego.com?

Laments that “check your local LEGO store” means a 3 hour drive from the nation’s capital :(. Even Novocastrians are better off than us…

Unfortunately not at this stage as they’re only available at LEGO Stores. Try giving Dreamworld a buzz if you’re after a set or two as they take orders over the phone.

Guess that’s how he covers the entire globe in 24 hours. Turns out, it’s all clones that would make the Clone Army look like child’s play.

My early review of 76199 Carnage is now live on the blog, hit the link in bio to read, or swipe through the gallery to see more photos!

If you enjoy LEGO’s Helmet collection, or are a big Carnage/Spider-Man fan Carnage will be a no-brainer addition to your collection.

With all my helmets currently on display, Carnage is the ones that stands out the most, in a good way, and I like that they’re expanding Marvel’s helmet collection.

I do think that there’s a wasted opportunity here with the lack of tentacles, or Symbiote tendrils sticking out from the back. I know it will technically break the Helmets’ style and design language, but for a character like Carnage, it feels like a massive miss to not have anything stick out.

Will you be picking up 76199 Carnage?

🚨 BREAKING: Effective immediately, the LEGO Gro 🚨 BREAKING: Effective immediately, the LEGO Group announced that it would be strengthening its commitment to Child Safety and Safe Play by mandating that proof of age identification be presented when purchasing all 18+ adult-focused sets, online or at LEGO Brand Retail Stores.

LEGO sets being purchased by adults have quadrupled in the last year compared to a decade ago, as adults flock towards the LEGO brick, a trend that was accelerated by the Covid-19 pandemic.

To prevent these 18+ sets from falling into the wrong and age-inappropriate hands, The LEGO Group will now require its customers to provide the following proof of age documents: driver’s license, passport, social security card (USA) or any other valid government-issued form of identification.

“At the LEGO Group, child safety is our number one priority” says Søren Christiansen, Senior Child Safety Compliance Officer.

“Following complaints from parents, we cannot afford to expose impressionable children or teenagers to adults-only sets like Winnie the Pooh. The LEGO 18+ label has allowed us to broaden our product portfolio and explore adult-themes like 123 Sesame Street, which would be highly inappropriate for children.”

They’re not the main characters in this wacky new #Vidiyo world, and most of the minifigure designs show – while I do like the cohesive musical-theme that these characters are based off, and the wild colours, I was left wanting a little more.

What did surprise me was just how much I liked the Beatbits. The artwork and design prowess that has gone into them are just sublime, and I love that we get to see the talents of LEGO’s Graphic Design team put to excellent use with these quirky LEGO takes on physical media.
Overall, I have mixed feelings about Bandmates series 1.

It’s crystal clear that @LEGO funelled the most unique and promising designs into the more expensive Beatboxes (for $$$), and a lot of the characters here just feel like an afterthought.

That said, there are some gems such as the Ice Cream Saxophonist, Shark Singer and Genie Dancer, and while the animal minifigures don’t do it for me, they might bother other fans less.
