New LEGO exclusives include minifigure-scale 40650 Land Rover Classic Defender, Lotus Flowers and Jade Rabbit

Continuing on with our Summer 2023 LEGO set coverage, we have a look at a selection of LEGO.com and LEGO Store exclusives that will be available from 1 June 2023 onwards!

This theme, with the yellow strip on the box is known as LEGO Iconic and is mostly exclusive to LEGO.com and LEGO Stores, so you won’t find them in regular toy stores.

In addition to the Up-Scaled LEGO Minifigure, there are 4 more of these Iconic sets, which includes an excellent minifigure-scale 40650 Land Rover Classic Defender, which is a cute miniature and budget version of the LEGO Icons 10317 Land Rover Classic Defender 90.

Botanical fans can also look forward to 40647 Lotus Flowers, and Seasonal fans can look forward to 40643 Jade Rabbit, which commemorates the Mid-Autumn Festival.

40650 Land Rover Classic Defender

I’m a big fan of the mini 40650 Land Rover Classic Defender, which features a female minifigure driver. I love that LEGO have been producing these miniature versions of LEGO Icons cars, beginning with the Mini Vespa and 10298 Vespa 125 from 2022.

40641 Birthday Cake

Now you can have your cake and build it too! This makes for an excellent birthday present for a LEGO-loving friend, or as a gift for a LEGO-loving kid. This looks like a lot of fun, and I love that the cake opens up to reveal a birthday party (and mini cake) on inside, as well as a slide!

40643 Jade Rabbit

Taking a detour from traditionally Western seasonal sets, we have 40643 Jade Rabbit which celebrates the Chinese mid-autumn festival. It depicts a brick-built Jade Rabbit, sitting on a snow skin moon cake creating divine medicine.

It also opens up to reveal egg yolk and 2 smaller rabbits inside! Super cute, and I love celebrating Mid-Autumn festival, with Mooncake and Lanterns, so I’ll be looking forward to getting my hands on this one!

40647 Lotus Flowers

And last but not least, we have a mini botanical set with 40647 Lotus Flowers, a great budget-friendly option for fans of LEGO’s Botanical collection, featuring 2 Lotus flowers, and a Lotus bud.

As you can see, the growing collection of mini Botanicals is looking great, and with the addition of the Lotus, it looks pretty great together.
