Bricklink Designer Program (BDP) Series 1 pre-orders now open!

Pre-orders have now opened for the 5 Bricklink Designer Program Series 1 sets!

The first 5 sets from Bricklink Designer Program were revealed in March last year, and after a long and excruciating wait, you can now pre-order them via the links below!

UPDATE: Use the following links below to preorder

Update 2: Mountain Fortress and Snack Shack have sold out.

Some important brief notes:

  • These are pre-orders, and only sets that achieve more than 3,000 sets will move into production
  • There’s a limit of 30,000 per set, so these are technically limited edition
  • You can only order up to 2 of each set per household
  • You will get charged when orders ship out, which should be around July 2024

You can see all 5 sets displayed and built here.

I wasn’t planning to, but after seeing them, I’ll definitely be getting at least one of each.

I expect the Mountain Fortress and Snack Shack to be really popular and for them to hit their 30,000 caps first, followed by the Old Train Shed, Parisian Street and General Store.

Don’t hesitate if you want any of these!

In case you missed it, do also check out my review of the Bricklink Designer Program 1 General Store!

You can pre-order all the sets from Bricklink Designer Program Series 1 via the Bricklink website!

Let me know in the comments which sets you pre-ordered from BDP Series 1!

Good luck!

Lego site keeps going to refresh can’t order tried for 5 days Al Lego sites malfunction need a better system for bdp programs

  2. tman says:

I got up just before 3am AEST to secure my order because I remember some of the last round selling really quickly. Accidently fell asleep in my chair at my pc for a bit over an hour and woke up in a panic. Hopped on the site and the fortress was already more than half sold out! Ended up buying the Fortress, Parisian Street and a Snack Shack.

I was blown away by how fast the Fortress sold. I stayed up a bit and pretty sure it was all over after just a little more than three hours.

I heard some Euro customers had some server issues that held things up in that first hour or so. Must have been very frustrating for some.

  3. Graham says:

Someone is already trying to sell their Mountain Fortress pre-order for $1000 on eBay.

  4. George says:

LEGO cancelled my order because it was to be delivered to a parcel locker. I didn’t realise until 8:00am this morning. I had secured a Castle. I tried to change the delivery address but after a 40 minute phone call to the USA. Their answer was I have to reorder! Of course by this time the Mountain Fortress was sold out and I have missed out! I’m really disappointed and unhappy. However they were kind enough to give me a discount on my new order. I’m mollified to a point but still gutted.

  5. Ivan says:

Sold out? In less than a day? Sigh.

  6. Paul says:

I was online at 4.45am (Melbourne, AU) time and the mountain fortress was about 80% to the 30,000. I secured 1 of each set except the train shed (I don’t know how I’d use it). A share other comments about the limits but I guess TLG need to cap it somehow. Thanks for all the info Jay.

  7. art says:

the Mountain Fortress already sold out ! so lego really think it would not sell well so they declined the Ideas/Icons approval ? the most expensive set with $ 380 from this batch sould out in less than 4 hours ??? what is lego thinking ???
    380 x 30000 = so 12 million dollars isnt enough.

    • Zulunet says:

Tells me that the Castle theme needs to come back also.

    • Ivan says:

Yes, bit unhappy about availability or the lack of it. I’ll get the parts and assemble it for myself if I’ll very much like to do so but it’s such incredible hassle to do it on Bricklink. Can’t see why a cap on how many they will produce.

This way it’s only good for resellers with nothing better to do than wait for this to go online, when others are working. We shouldn’t be required to take a day off just to PREORDER a toy on its release day.

      • Kirk says:

Snagged mine while at work 😉, called a cell phone. Better luck with the Forest Castle 🤞

        • Ivan says:

You think it was for lack of trying? 😉

The website is crap and I was not able to order. Once I had time to fiddle with it and browser / proxy / vpn settings, it was already gone. Their website randomly keeps saying I cannot order from my country (which is country where Lego is made, ironically).

  8. Lydia says:

Thank you so much! I was so stressed out trying to get my order in. You’re amazing

  9. ctx1769 says:

Got mine reserved 😁 -one castle

  10. cynthia g says:

Thanks so much for the links. I tried various links to preorder including bircklink and the lego site itself, and yours were the only ones that worked! Always enjoy reading our reviews and news. Thanks for a fantastic blog.

  11. Zulunet says:

Huge thanks for working links!!! Rock Star, got my order in!! Thanks so much!!! So excited about castle sets!

  12. Chris Grigsby says:

Jay we could kiss you! As per the other comments, the site was down, and searching for the sets at Lego.com worked but then the pages were removed. As infuriating as this always is with Lego IT, we’re blessed that you’ve got the community’s back. Kudos! 🍻

    • Jay Ong says:

I’m glad I got the opportunity to help the LEGO community!

      • Chris Grigsby says:

I know at the live Brickvention podcast we discussed what is Lego doing well (and not so well). I asked you and Richard about the status and running of LAN. I missed an opportunity…
We need your help to get Lego some fresh and direct feedback on their IT. As an IT professional in this space I can confidently that say there is simply no excuse for the year-on-year failures of a company of Lego’s size and success subjecting their customers to the issues of the BDP preorder process issues, and large release-day system problems. They know their systems, they know the amount of promotion they’ve done for BDP, they know the traffic they’re going to get, and they must know the angst this causes when things don’t work and you feel you’ll miss out. Thankfully I have a hobby that encourages mindfulness, and relaxation. Oh crap, it’s Lego! 😯
Rant over. Thanks again Jay! 🙏😀

      • Richard Dietz says:

Same here! I will be using these links in future bricklink preorders ! Nice one bro

  13. Stephen Cowling says:

Thank you Jay! These links were such a save. Nothing but server error on the site (as expected) but the links worked beautifully!

  14. W. K. says:

Yeah, then don’t learn (or even more people tried to get in the moment it went open this time).
Anyways, i got on the page of the general store (smaller set, so maybe less people trying to get it), and i got the link to buy it on lego.com
    https://www.lego.com/cart?product=910031
if you go one up and down with the number, you can order the sets.
I got all 5, don’t know the exact numbers, i beliee 3 up and 1 down.

  15. mg_brix says:

Jay’s Brick Blog for the win! Kept getting server errors and timeouts on Bricklink.

  16. legointhevalley says:

Shambles, can’t get to the site to even order the old train shed. You would have thought by now that Lego group could have got this sorted…

    • Jay Ong says:

Refresh the post and use the new links I’ve updated to preorder direct

    • art says:

yeah lego still used Y2k servers every new release the website isnt working or glitching looks like LEGO have one of the worst IT in the toy business

      • Richard Dietz says:

But they continue to inflate prices, price gouging tactics while giving us less ( a corirate tactic we will see more and more of closer to the new world “order” and inferior products while they hoard wealth .

  17. Ian says:

Are they, though? Seems the pages related to the program are down.
