Three LEGO sets based on Disney’s Wish are coming in October 2023!

Yesterday, LEGO unveiled a trio of sets for the upcoming Disney animated movie, Wish, which is set to be released in theatres in November 2023.

Housed within the LEGO Disney Princess sub-theme, we’ll get some of the key characters from Wish in minidoll form, including new creatures like Star, and Valentino a deep-voiced goat.

The three sets will be released on 1 October 2023, and I think they look great, capturing the unique hand-drawn aesthetic of the movie, which was developed as part of Disney’s 100th Anniversary celebration, tying together a common Disney theme of wishes being fulfilled.

I think the sets look great, and I’m especially excited for 43224 King Magnifico’s Castle, the biggest set of the theme with its enchanting architecture.

Check out the 3 sets below:

Here’s the teaser trailer for Wish!

43224 King Magnifico’s Castle – 618 pieces

Minidolls: Asha, Dahlia, King Magnifico, Star

43231 Asha’s Cottage – 509 pieces

Minidolls: Asha, Sakina, Sabino, Star

43223 Asha in the City of Rosas – 154 pieces

Minidolls: Asha, Valentino, Star

Looks to be a recolor from the dark brown version in 60398. Still very useful, though.

So maybe the mold was designed with Sakina in mind, to begin with.

I guess it could also be due to Lego’s current move to have minifigs coded black through their hairpieces…

No one may read this comment (now that Wish has left the cultural zeitgeist), but here goes:

Has anyone else noticed a recurring problem with these LEGO Disney Movie Princess sets? I’m specifically thinking of the wave of sets for Raya and the Last Dragon, along with the current wave of sets for Wish. I’m not talking about the prices (exorbitant as always!) or the number of sets (insufficient). I’m talking about the same character showing up in every set. An identical version of Asha shows up in every single one of these Wish sets. She doesn’t have a different dress in the most expensive set, or a different facial expression. She’s basically just taking up space from other, more interesting characters. It makes sense for Asha to be in the cottage set, along with her mom and grandfather. But where is the queen in King Magnifico’s Castle? Instead, we just get yet another Asha. Look, I know what LEGO is doing. They have to design these sets as much as a year in advance, without having seen the film and no way to know exactly which characters are most important. They don’t want angry customers complaining that they only bought one set of the wave and didn’t get the main character. But come on, LEGO! You don’t include every single LEGO Friend in every single LEGO Friends set! You don’t include every single character from Dreamzzz in every single Dreamzzz set! And a $100 set with only 618 pieces could definitely have squeezed in a fourth figure without breaking the budget. I’m just saying that someone who gets all three of the Wish sets will end up with three identical copies of Asha, and none of her six other friends from the film, nor the Queen!

  2. Håkan says:

Is Sakina’s hair a new mold? Initially, I think that might be the most useful part for me, personally…

  3. Kasia says:

Sabino he looks like Mia’s smiling grandfather and Autumn’s great-grandfather: Marcel.

  4. Miss-Morgs says:

    A goat! A Lego goat!!!
