LEGO Marvel Avengers Advent Calendar 2023 Daily Countdown

Welcome back to the Jay’s Brick Blog Daily daily countdown of the 2023 LEGO Marvel Avengers Advent Calendar!

This is the 3rd year in a row that we’re getting a Marvel-themed Advent Calendar, and after 2022 gave us a Guardians of the Galaxy version, we’re back to the Avengers and Infinity Saga being the focal theme of the Advent Calendar, similar to the 2021 LEGO Marvel Avengers Advent Calendar

This year, I’ll be counting down all 5 LEGO Advent Calendars – Star Wars, Harry Potter, Friends, City and Marvel.

To make it easier for you to check out each day’s section, as this post is going to grow longer with every new window, all you have to do is click on the Day you want, and you will instantly jump to the corresponding section.

How does the daily advent calendar countdown work?

If you’re new here, I post daily updates on each window of the 2023 Marvel Avengers Advent Calendar. I usually post updates in the late afternoon, but sometimes if things get too busy, updates will be posted in the evening. I’ll update this post each day, as I don’t really enjoy the practice of creating new posts for each day as it keeps it so much cleaner, so bookmark this post to come back every day!

Unlike other sites, I’m actually opening each window as I go, and I’ve been able to be relatively spoiler-free to be as surprised as I can get. All reviews, thoughts and reactions are live as we go along, there are no pre-planned photos or thoughts, unless I happen to be travelling or away from home.

Do note that I’m based in Melbourne, Australia (GMT +11) so we’re ahead of most of the world (except New Zealand) so to avoid spoilers, try to come back to this post after you’ve opened your window and built the daily model especially if you’re located in other time zones.

To follow along, it’s best to bookmark this post to check back each day. You can also find a link to this post from the home page via a link in the top navigation bar. If you’re on mobile, you have to expand the burger menu (the button with the 3 lines) to find it.

Here’s the front of the 2023 Avengers Advent Calendar, which folds out to form a playmat of sorts where you can display all the mini builds.. There’s a city skyline, suggesting that this is the view from the Avengers Tower.

Remember, we count upwards from 1 to 24, so don’t make the mistake of going backwards!

As always, the instruction of each day’s builds are printed on the inside of the doors, so be careful and try not to rip them out!

Without wasting any time, let’s get started with the 2023 Marvel Avengers Advent Calendar countdown!

Day 1

We start off the 2023 Marvel Avengers Advent Calendar with Iron Man, the lynchpin of the Avengers and the Infinity Saga.

Unfortunately, there’s nothing exclusive about this minifigure as the Mark 85 Armor has shown up in 76131 Avengers Compound Battle, 76192 Avengers: Endgame Final Battle, 76216 Iron Man Armoury and 76237 Sanctuary II: Endgame Battle.

That said, the Iron Man helmet is the new version, which made its debut with 76216 Iron Man Armoury, so it’s technically not the same as the one in previous Avengers sets – only the torso and legs are carried over throughout.

In a way, it’s not surprising as the Mark 85 Armor was the star of Avengers Endgame and Infinity War, so Tony being in his ultimate nanotech-infused armour makes sense. LEGO Marvel fans will likely already have this variant in their collection, so it’s not too exciting.

I do like the HUD (heads up display) on Tony’s face, which looks cool, and he also comes with 2 power blasts elements, which you can flick by pressing the “tails” inwards to fire them as projectiles.

So yeah, we’re off to be a bit of a slow start, although casual fans and those who don’t own 76216 Iron Man Armoury will be happy to get the newer Iron Man helmet and be able to add it to their collection!

Check back in tomorrow to see what Day 2 brings!

Day 2

After the slightly lackluster day 1, Day 2 of the 2023 LEGO Marvel Avengers Advent Calendar gives us a brilliant build – a micro Quinjet in festive Christmas-y colours!

This build was a lot of fun and I especially love the use of colour here, with pops of pearl gold and a trans-red rockpit.

Here’s how it looks from the back. Very surprised to already get such a festive build 2 days in, but I won’t complain as I think it puts a nice Christmas spin on a very iconic Avengers vehicle.

And that’s it for Day 2 so far! Check back tomorrow to see what we get in Day 3!

Day 3

Day 3 is a huge surprise, I half-thought it was some sort of mistake. We get our 2nd minifigure in 3 days, and it’s an excellent one with Spider-Man in an ugly Christmas sweater! Festive minifigures like these are usually reserved for the back half of the calendar, but I’m really impressed to get another main Avenger so soon after Day 1’s Iron Man.

Spidey comes with a set of web shoots for his hands, and I just love his Christmas sweater with webs and Spider-Man masks printed on them.

Here’s a look at the back which has Spider-Man’s name on it.

Three days into the 2023 Marvel Avengers Advent Calendar and I’m fully surprised to get 2 minifigures already – fans should be quite happy as Iron Man has a companion and there’s so much playability with 2 minifigures right out of the bat.

Check back tomorrow to see what we get for Day 4!

Day 4

I know getting 2 minifigures in 3 days was too good to be true. We get a huge stinker in Day 4, with a bag of pearl gold Spider-Man webbing effects. That’s it. That’s the window.

These attach to Spider-Man’s hands so you can create multiple action shots, and I guess the Pearl Gold is festive?

An extremely forgettable day and pure waste of a slot. LEGO could’ve easily included this in yesterday’s window, but for some reason, we get a whole day dedicated to random accessories.

Here’s hoping Day 5 makes up for this stinker!

Day 5

At least this one’s a build? Day 5 of the Marvel gives us an Iron Man Snowman, complete with a fancy top hat, a trans-blue arc reactor in its chest, and two white blasters for arms.

Snowpeople are a staple of Advent Calendars, so this one is at least semi-relevant, although it would’ve been really cool if LEGO had given us a plain white Iron Man helmet. A man can dream!

That’s it for Day 5! Not too bad of a build, but I do wish it has a bit more Marvel-ness to it. More to make up for Day 4’s random gold webbing! Check in tomorrow to see what Day 6 brings!

Day 6

Day 6 of the 2023 LEGO Marvel Avengers Advent Calendar gives us a Gift Wrapping Station. While it’s well-designed, using a car door as wrapping paper, and you get a pair of scissors (plus a spare!), it really don’t scream Marvel to me.

There’s a clip on the side, which suggests that there will be feature builds that attach to this, so maybe there’s going to be a present assembly line of sorts?

Not very impressed with this Advent Calendar so far. The lack of anything Marvel or Avengers to Day 6’s build is a bit of a letdown, even if it’s technically seasonal and fits the vibe of an Advent Calendar.

Hope tomorrow will improve things! Check back to see what we get on Day 7! I sure hope it isn’t some simple wrapped presents…

Day 7

I swear, the 2023 LEGO Marvel Avengers Advent Calendar feels like a roller coaster. On Day 7, we get our 3rd minifigure, Black Widow wearing an ugly Christmas jumper! I really like this festive Black Widow, plus she’s armed with her batons.

Her Christmas sweater is phenomenal, and I love that the Black Widow symbol has been appropriately Christmas-fied.

And here’s the back, which has the Avengers logo knitted, and also a cute little Santa Hat on it.

It’s never a bad day to get an exclusive new character, especially a Christmas-themed version of everyone’s favourite Assassin/Spy, so Day 7 has been a treat!

Let’s see if we get another stinker in Day 8 or we keep up the hot streak!

Day 8

Wow, the 2023 LEGO Marvel Advent Calendar finally comes into its own with a most excellent build in Day 8! We get an Iron Man Reindeer, a robotic Reindeer in Iron Man’s signature crimson and gold colours, complete with its very own Arc Reactor.

It’s a really cute build, and it also comes with 2 piles of snow. A clever trick used here is the use of Day 4’s golden webbing to attach into the piles of snow, which transforms the webbing into golden Christmas Trees.

I don’t think there’s been a case where contents of previous windows have been used in a new window, so this is a really novel and inventive way to repurpose those webbing elements, which look great in this case. I kinda feel slightly less miffed by Day 4’s webbing now that I know they can be re-used like this.

Festive Christmas Sweater minifigures aside, this is my favourite model so far as it blends a Seasonal and Avengers build so seamlessly.

Come back tomorrow to see what we get on Day 9!

Day 9

On Day 9, we get the very first Avenger, Captain America aka Steve Rogers! He’s a core member of The Avengers but this version is pretty common, so there’s nothing much to get excited about if you already have this variant.

It’s a shame that he doesn’t have a festive Christmas jumper like Black Widow or Spider-man, but this is just plain old Steve Rogers.

That said, it’s always a good day to get a minifigure and I’m impressed that we’re already at 4 minifigures 9 days in, which younger fans will no doubt enjoy, getting so many popular characters in quick succession!

Let’s hope this streak keeps up and we get another fun build tomorrow on Day 10!

Day 10

On Day 10 of the 2023 LEGO Marvel Advent Calendar, we get a Jetpack! The construction is pretty simple, but I like the use of the car grille, and minifigure beck bracket to give it a unique look with interesting angles.

On the packaging, Captain America is depicted wearing the Jetpack so let’s put it on him by taking out his head and slotting his neck through the hole.

This seems like a gift from Tony Stark to help Steve Rogers fly – not a bad Christmas gift!

Check back tomorrow to see what we get on Day 11!

Day 11

On Day 11 we get a rather large build with a Fireplace! This Fireplace is a little special as it has Thor’s Mjolnir mounted as a decoration.

You’ll also notice that there are clips and a bar on each side, which means that it can attach itself to the Present Wrapping Station, suggesting that we’ll have many more of these linked builds in the coming days!

Come back tomorrow to see what Day 12 will bring!

Day 12

Iron Man’s workshop continues to grow and on Day 12, the halfway mark of the 2023 Marvel Avengers Advent Calendar, we get a simple workbench.

We get a red toolbox and a pearl gold crowbar, in Iron Man’s colours, but that’s pretty much it. Kind of a boring filler build, but at least the tools match Iron Man’s primary colours.

I wonder if we’ll find out what he’s building! I was surprised that the Workbench doesn’t connect to the other items, so we’ll hopefully find out its purpose soon!

Check back tomorrow to see what we get on Day 13!

Day 13

We start the second half of the 2023 LEGO Marvel Avengers Advent Calendar on a strong note, with Day 13 giving us an Okoye minifigure! She’s a key supporting character in the Black Panther movies, and Okoye has an important position as General of the Dora Milaje, the elite military unit that protects the Black Panther in Wakanda.

This version of Okoye is slightly uncommon, as it’s only appeared once in 76214 Black Panther: War on the Water, so if you didn’t pick up that set, you’re in luck as this is a fairly affordable way to add this Okoye variant to your collection.

And that’s Day 13 so far – a really strong lineup of LEGO Marvel minifigures so far! Come back tomorrwo to see what we get in Day 14!

Day 14

On Day 14, we get a mixed bag of things – an Ice Hockey stick, puck, and transparent goal, as well as a stuffed bunny and an Iron Man-coloured present.

The bunny is a nod to the giant stuffed bunny from Iron Man 3! Thanks to Eddie for pointing that out!

The door flap instructions show that the Ice Hockey accessories are meant for Okoye which is cool – the second window that requires a previous window’s contents to complete the look.

The selection of presents sure is random though – maybe we’ll get a Christmas Tree soon? I hope the tree is red and gold. Come back tomorrow to see what we get for Day 15!

Day 15

Day 15 of the 2023 Marvel Advent Calendar is a bit of a random one – I’m guessing that this is some sort of Arc Reactor on a steel pedestal, but the use of the trans-blue round brick is throwing me off as the shape is a little weird and could be anything.

There are clips on the side suggesting that Tony Stark can hang his tools to it. Or you could hang everyone’s weapons like the hockey stick, Okoye’s spear and Black Widow’s batons.

I guess it’s technically a Weapons Rack? I dunno, it’s not immediately clear what this is and the round brick is simply throwing me off.

Bit of a weird one – not the worst day but I do wish it was slightly more clear what this is meant to be. Check back tomorrow to see what we get on Day 16!

Day 16

On Day 16 of the 2023 Marvel Avengers Advent Calendar we get quite an interesting build – a throne for Loki! The design features Loki’s signature colours – dark green and gold, and the two “horns” and trans-green elements are more hallmarks of the God of Mischief’s style.

Its base is curved, so can wobble from side to side and there’s also space for a minifigure to sit inside.

The colour scheme is unlike any of the other builds, and does a great job of injecting some green into all the dark red and grey.

Come back tomorrow to see what we get on Day 17! I wonder if Loki is next!

Day 17

On Day 17 we get…. Doctor Strange’s cloak. That’s it.

This is truly bewildering that we only get the Cloak of Levitation and no Doctor Strange minifigure. Are they saving him for tomorrow?

I truly don’t understand why they split days up like this where minifigure accessories are separated from their minifigures. Imagine if we got Black Widow’s batons in their own day?

Well Spider-Man is going to make the most of it while we await Doctor Strange’s arrival. I sure hope he comes!

Day 18

If yesterday’s lonesome Cloak of Levitation is any indication, on Day 18 we get Doctor Strange as expected. He comes with some magical green effects for his hands, but he looks so strange (heh) without his trusty red sentient cloak.

Here’s a look at his back printing and alternate face.

And that’s it for Day 18 – at least there’s a healthy number of minifigures here, but I still feel like LEGO should’ve included the Cape with the Doctor Strange minifigure – it just feels like they’re stretching out the days by splitting up key accessories and their corresponding minifigures.

Check back tomorrow to see what Day 19 brings us!

Day 19

On Day 19 of the 2023 LEGO Marvel Avengers Advent Calendar, we get another linked segment build with a table, lamp and a red apple.

It might seem like a random assortment of items, but it ties in nicely with Doctor Strange from the 2 previous days, as it’s a nod to Doctor Strange demonstrating the powers of the Time Stone with an apple.

A pretty clever nod to Doctor Strange and one that MCU fans will be happy to see included.

That’s it for Day 19 so far! Good to see another linked segment included.

Come back to see what we get for Day 20! Only 5 more days remain in the Advent Calendar!

Day 20

The 2023 Marvel Avengers Advent Calendar truly is a roller coaster of highs and lows. On Day 20, we get an excellent micro version of the Hydra Train (Schnellzug EB912), which features heavily in the first Captain America movie, where Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes attempt to raid it and capture Zola.

There’s even a dark blue statuette on the train, which represents Captain America which is another nice touch.

I really enjoyed Day 20’s Hydra Train, and I also like the significance of a toy train popping up as it’s such a Christmas tradition to hope for a toy train under the Christmas Tree.

Can we keep up the momentum? Check back tomorrow to see what we get on Day 21!

Day 21

The 2023 LEGO Marvel Avengers Advent Calendar is truly a topsy turvy roller-coaster of boom and busts. On Day 21, we get a rather basic table, with a gold goblet, a green bottle and a turkey drumstick.

That’s it. On Day 21. With 4 days left, they hit us with some food. At least it looks festive but at this stage in the Advent Calendar you really should be ramping up and building hype as we approach Christmas Eve, not apply the emergency brakes like this.

Oh well, check back tomorrow to see what we get on Day 22. Imagine if we get a pair of chairs!

Day 22

Thankfully we’re back to an area where the 2023 LEGO Marvel Advent Calendar shines – the minifigure department! On Day 22, we get Wong, who is all over the MCU thanks to his ability to open portals and be everywhere, all at once.

He comes with a Tesseract, a powerful mystical artifact that holds the Space Stone. It’s not an accessory that’s typically associated with Wong, BUT I do like the symbolism of Wong being one of the “wise men” bringing some magical gifts to the other Avengers.

Here’s a look at his back printing.

This variant of Wong is kinda rare, having only appeared in pricey sets like 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum and 76269 Avengers Tower so it’s a nice one to add to your collection if you don’t have those two big sets.

And that’s the lineup of minifigures so far! Not a bad cast with 7 important characters spanning the Infinity Saga and I can’t wait to see what we get tomorrow for Day 23!

Day 23

On Day 23, the second last day of the 2023 LEGO Marvel Avengers Advent Calendar, we get a Christmas Tree Skirt, which has a Captain America shield design!

This one is quite clever conceptually, and I appreciate that they managed to combine a festive component with an Avengers reference in a way that makes plenty of sense.

With no Christmas Tree in sight, it doesn’t take a genius (billionaire, playboy, philanthropist) to guess what we’re getting on the final day!

Come back tomorrow to see what we get on Day 24, and also an overall summary of what has been an absolute roller coaster of an Advent Calendar!

Day 24

We’re on the final day of the 2023 LEGO Marvel Avengers Advent Calendar, and as expected on Day 24 we get a Christmas Tree! The design is quite angular, making it look kinda like the Avengers Tower but it’s lacking a topper or star!

Thankfully, we can use Wong’s Tesseract to complete the tree!

Final Thoughts

Here’s the complete 2023 LEGO Marvel Avengers Advent Calendar, which takes us through the Avengers Infinity Saga.

It’s been such a roller coaster of an Advent Calendar, with some really high highs, but low lows as well, making it feel like such a dysfunctional experience. The pearl gold Spider-Man elements and the singular Doctor Strange Cloak of Levitation were such stinkers that I almost can’t believe the design team thought it was a positive experience to give kids and Avengers fans.

On the plus side, the minifigure department is pretty decent, and I love that we get Spider-Man and Black Widow in ugly Christmas sweaters.

There are some huge missing characters – I feel like Thor would’ve made the perfect Santa Claus, and a seasonal variant would’ve been nice. Just getting his Hammer on the Fireplace is such a missed opportunity, and the lack of Loki is also very noticeable, especially as he has a throne.

That said, 7 big-name characters are pretty good, and sorta make up for the lackluster days and builds.

A big thank you for joining me as we count down the 2023 Marvel Advent Calendar and having to put up with some big stinkers of the days! I really appreciate you following along as we count down to Christmas Eve!

Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year!

  1. Lego Jedi says:

A good analysis. Felt like they had ideas and didn’t talk to each other, this we get two days they ‘forgot’ muddled them up.
A villain would’ve been good, so Loki was a stand-out, the excellent throne kow feels so random.
    Good set of minifigs.

  2. Tamea says:

This calendar was such a flop I don’t think I will buy Marvel next year. When you open your door and get a cape while your spouse has an entire little spaceship to build it’s a bit boring. I would have traded 1/2 the characters for a Loki. And that tool bench should have been built to clip in line with the other pieces.
Thank you for keeping us updated.

  3. Liam Jordan says:

From the outside looking in, this calendar was trash.

A few decent figs, but an overall letdown massively.

So, so glad I went with my gut and chose Star Wars over this one.

  4. Peter says:

I wish we had gotten a Loki instead of a Wong…and agreed on the cape and web stinkers!!! Merry Christmas!!

  5. Lark says:

What a wild ride! They’re absolutely out of their minds for giving Loki a throne but no Loki??? And those webs and cloak days were just insane

  6. Johnny Bruhn says:

MERRY X-MAS TO EVERYONE. SEE YOU NEXT YEAR

  7. Tue Gaston says:

Ever since we got Loki’s throne on day 16, I’ve been waiting for Loki, but since It’s obviously going to be a christmas tree tomorrow, to my bafflement, we’re not getting a Loki minifigure at all. What’s that about?

Am I the only one wondering this?

    • Patti says:

You’re not the only one. I continue to be disappointed by the lack of Loki. *sigh*

    • Jay Ong says:

No Loki and Thor, who’s a “founding avenger” is pretty weak.

    • Johnny Bruhn says:

You are NOT the only one! 😡

    • Ryan Spear says:

Same. Thor was in the original calendar, so I could understand not getting him. But we get a Loki throne and a tree with Loki colors (not spoiling, it’s just what’s on the box) and that’s it? Plus we got Thanos the first year, so it’s not like villains can’t be invited to the party.

    • Layna says:

I have to say eBay is making bank on me because of this calendar. After I saw Thor’s hammer and Loki’s throne and realized they weren’t going to be there…

  8. Layna Andersen says:

I had to buy some characters on eBay to have everyone I want at the party! One is a nice guy everyone likes and I’m sure he was left off the invitation list by mistake, one is a random party crasher, and one NOBODY wants there but his brother brought him and swears he’ll be good this time.

  9. Ryan Spear says:

Is it possible we finally have a better idea of what day 15’s build is supposed to be. Now that Wong has arrived, day 15 could be a stand for the Tesseract. Just a thought.

  10. Johnny Bruhn says:

Y’all are gonna be SO dissapointed with the last two days.

  11. Layna Andersen says:

I thought Dr. Strange’s table was lame… well, if nothing else, this is a friend for it. They can sit together and talk about being furniture.

  12. Lisa says:

Is the train 2 separate pieces or can I just not figure out how it connects?

  13. Layna Andersen says:

Silly question: is the apple attached to the table in any way, or does it just sit there?

    Thanks!

  14. June says:

How do the 2 cars of the Hydra train join together??

  15. Jonathon says:

Huh. I thought the Tiny Guy was supposed to be Ant-Man in reference to his battle atop a toy train set in the first Ant-Man film since his tiny form would be impossible to render him fully detailed in that size in Lego.

  16. Michael says:

Well, my day 19 was empty and it was the item I had 2 of on my day 6. I thought it was odd to get 2 tables in one spot.

  17. Layna says:

Whose cape this is I think I know
    His headquarters downtown does glow
He will not see us cosplay him
And quote the lines from his whole show

I have Captain America wearing it. I picture everyone taking turns trying it on, and like with Loki’s throne, taking pictures. It’s going to be pretty awkward if Dr. Strange shows up and sees it. 🙂

  18. David says:

Not sure if someone said this already as I’m a few days behind. I think Day 15 is the tesseract. Would make sense as it was followed by Loki’s throne, albeit no thor or Loki figure?

The first avengers calendar was great, even if there were a fair few wasted windows. With so much content it’s a shame they aren’t doing more with the builds.

  19. Gonzo’s somelier says:

I was happy to get the cloak on its own as it isn’t just an item of clothing and has saved Dr. Strange and fought Thanos. Santa is looking after it at the moment and looks fancy!

  20. Lego Jedi says:

This is a poor show today. Its not a build, it’s part of the minifigure.
    Shame on you Lego.

  21. Dan says:

I said of the Marvel calendar last year that I’m almost checking in every day to see how bad it gets and I can’t believe it’s the same again this year!

Extra sad when the Star Wars and Harry Potter calendars have been so strong!

  22. Francis Gallagher says:

The Avengers calendar has really been terrible. The SW calendar has been mostly great – cool builds almost every day. Avengers is spider webs and a cloak. 🍾

  23. Sarah says:

This is my first year getting the Marvel Lego advent calendar. Pretty disappointing. I’m going back to Harry Potter next year.

  24. Nev Bartos says:

Day 17 aka The day the advent calendar died. What a truly pathetic day.

  25. Sara Mm says:

Hey, for today I didn’t get drstranges Cape. I got double of tommorows thing. I am so angry, how could they make such a mistake

  26. Layna Andersen says:

I picture people sitting in it and having their pictures taken at the party. The extra piece – a tiny clear green brick – makes a great crown for whoever’s sitting there.

  27. Lesley says:

I though Day 15 was a water cooler! LOL

  28. Ray Kellison says:

Your day 16 build is slightly different than the instructions. Fancy side gold pieces should be one level down according to the directions on my box.

  29. DH says:

Your Loki throne is a little off, mate: check it again. The back is build wrong.
Thanks for doing this blood every year: it’s been our go to resource for years!

  30. Christian says:

Im pretty sure that the build for day sixteen actually has something to do with Loki??? It does look like his colours though so its my best guess…

  31. Mdub says:

I think you built the throne wrong. I think the horns are meant to be lower.

  32. Tandri says:

Lokii’s Throne is a spoiler for Loki Season 2.

  33. Liam Jordan says:

Day 15 is clearly meant to be a weapons rack.

Holy crap, this calendar has been absolute garbage. I am so glad I chose Star Wars this year.

Of 15 days so far, only 3 have had anythinf worthwhile, that being Spiderman, Okoye and Widow, and even then Widow still has that awful inaccurate head.

  34. Marvelfan says:

I think it is the space stone on Avengers tower in the first Avengers movie.

  35. KevC says:

    Day 15 could be the teseract, or it’s a T.A.R.D.I.S. console & they’re hinting at a Marvel/Doctor Who crossover… it could happen…

  36. Sara Mm says:

Hey I didn’t have that at all today. I had some random green and gold statue. Pls help

  37. Love your commentary. Thank you for writing this!

  38. Eddie says:

    “It’s a big bunny…. relax about it.” – TS

    • Jay Ong says:

OH. That makes SO much sense now. Thanks for letting me know! I’ve updated the entry to contain that info!

      • Eddie says:

My daughter and I have been quoting that scene for years. Whenever we have too much going on, or if we do something dumb, we will hit each other with a quick: “It’s a big bunny, relax about it.” The shoutout made both of our days. Thanks Jay!!!!!!!

  39. Chris says:

Did you get three skates? I got three, they add extra pieces but a fourth would have been better than the extra red bricks.

  40. Cathy McDonald says:

My son’s currently using the stuffed bunny as a goalkeeper for the hockey game. He was pretty pleased with today!

  41. Mike says:

This year’s Marvel calendar is really yo-yoing between good and days like today when the designers didn’t seem to understand the assignment.

    • Jay Ong says:

Just discovered the Stuffed Bunny is a nod to Iron Man 3… so I kinda like the reference! The Ice Hockey accessories are a little random though. I agree it’s been very topsy turvy!

  42. Bec says:

Huh, we got a different day 13- in my son’s words, it looked like an unfinished hockey set! Definitely no minifig.

  43. Hi Jay! Last year (2022) I haphzardly stumbled upon your Advent Calendar Countdown then subsequent brick blog of sorts. I bought the Marvel, and Star Wars … I thoroughly enjoyed it last year, so I was looking forward to it this year. I only purchased the Marvel to follow along with the fun in my own way.

Keep up the entertaining and great work. Thankfully, I don’t always agree with your assessment, but that’s the makings of a spirited debate.

    Keep digging,
    Los

  44. Tara says:

We do our advent calender by counting down the days. We pulled day 18 yesterday and cant figure out what it is. Can you please help ?

    • SPJ says:

Jay counts starting from day 1, not day 24, so I’m sorry but I don’t know if he will be able to help with that one. If you check here again when he does day 18, it should say.

  45. Nichole says:

My son was all excited for today. He collects the Hall of Armor Legos and he wanted the special mini sets this calendar had for his Hall of Armor.

  46. Andy says:

There was an Iron Man snowman with a proper Iron Man helmet in the 2021 calendar so maybe that’s why it’s different.

Surprised they didn’t make another snow character.

  47. Michael L Gustafson says:

I ended up with two bags and both were tables. The first bag was the wrapping station, but the other bag is the same table but with peices to make a lamp and a red apple. Having a great time each morning seeing what is in each day, putting it together and going to your posts and see what you have to say about the build. I love it.

  48. Gary says:

Really enjoying reading blogs to all the calendars!! I’ve got the City one this year but tempted to get them all next year (other than Friends). Great work thanks!

  49. DL says:

Lego did give us a plain white iron man helmet on the iron man snow man in the 2021 marvel Advent calendar

  50. Marshall says:

Man, this stinks, the might be worse than the 3 Star wars weapon’s rank

  51. AnnaL says:

My boys loved the web effects for today. But they’re now fighting over them. (They share who gets to open each day and one opened yesterday and the other today.) .

  52. Johnnytamale says:

I feel sorry for all Marvel fans today. This was even worse than the Star Wars weapons rack!

  53. Gonzo’s Sommelier says:

Always great to read your insight and see the additional photos (I needed them for the Quinjet!). Thank you for taking the time to post these, looking forward to the rest of the builds. Just wish we would have had a classic Disney character calendar this year for the 100th anniversary.

  54. Tyler says:

Please keep doing these – really helpful!

  55. Nick says:

Jay. After holding off my son(and myself) opening the Star Wars advent calendar for the last month we finally had our moment together this morning. But no Jays review ! It’s been a tradition to read your comments for the last 5 years before school while we make what’s in the box.

  56. Kathrin says:

Dear Jay. Thank you for this very fun advent calendar countdown. I am also looking for the advent calendar count downs for Star Wars and Harry Potter but can’t find them on your site, though I read, you do all five Lego calendars this year, can you please help me? Best from Berlin and looking forward to the next 24 days! Kathrin
