2021 LEGO Harry Potter Advent Calendar revealed! (spoilers beware!)

Spoiler warning: all the models, builds and minifigures from the 2021 Harry Potter Advent Calendar are revealed below, beyond what’s just on the box!

The 2021 LEGO Harry Potter Advent Calendar will be released on 1 September 2021 and will be available from LEGO.com, Amazon, LEGO stores and toy stores.

It will retail for US$39.99 in the United States, AU$49.99 in Australia and £24.99 in the United Kingdom.

Here’s your very first look at the new 2021 LEGO Harry Potter Advent Calendar!

This is the third year running for the LEGO Harry Potter Advent Calendar, and counting down the calendar days has been an annual tradition on the blog – so I’m very much looking forward to the 2021 advent calendar!

Relive the 2019 and 2020 calendar countdowns for a blast from the past!

This year’s Advent Calendar theme seems to be based on the events from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, with several milestones and characters from Harry’s first foray into the Wizarding World such as withdrawing money from the wizard bank Gringotts, walking through the barrier at Platform 9¾, receiving his Hogwarts Acceptance Letter and more.

Six minifigures are included – Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Draco Malfoy, Dudley Dursley and Griphook, as well as what seems to be 2 chocolate frog tile cards.

Looking at the contents and the board, there seems to also be some sort of interactive game included with a spinner dice which indicates an interactive elements to the calendar – seems pretty gimmicky, but I think will be great for families who are counting down the days to Christmas.

Do you know where the two wizard cards are hidden?

  2. Thank you Jay for your Blog, your advent calendar review really inspires mine.
It is a tough work to do the daily countdown, but I really like it, and you are my inspiration.
Concerning the reveal, I really don’t like it, I like opening day by day and discovery. So, I just had a quick look, because I am too curios to resist, but I will forget by Christmas!
I am really looking forward for the daily opening!
    Cheers

Thanks Alberto, I’m so honoured that I’ve been able to inspire you. It is tough work keeping to a daily schedule, but I hope you manage to find joy.

Same here, my memory is quite bad, but unfortunately, the box ends up spoiling most of the builds anyway.

      Can’t wait for December!

I skipped this post to the comments to ask: as a spoiler-free lowdown, is it as good as the 2020 calendar? I wasn’t too impressed with the overly repetitive 2019 one, so skipped 2020, but after a week or so of reading your dailies I managed to buy one of them and enjoyed the builds. Based on this, should I get 2021?

    • Jay says:

I think it’s better than 2019 (no house banners!) but not as good as 2020 as it doesn’t seem as cohesive.

There seems to be a lot more bits and pieces (accessories) this time around.

      • Paul Castle says:

So, it’s not a one-theme scene like the other two? Is it more like the Star Wars ones, with two or three linked days at a time? Or is it more random?

        • Jay says:

It’s Philosopher’s Stone-themed! The builds don’t seem as extensive as 2020, but there’s some definitely some linkage.

Thanks Jay, looks like I’ll be getting it. I have enough enough VIP points saved to pay for both a SW and a HP calendar, and each morning’s unveilings are always fun, so it’s a no brainer really.

            • Jay says:

Awesome. Can’t say too much about the SW Advent Calendar yet, but this year’s one will make a lot of people VERY happy.
